Terms

These terms cover a shop's use of Casework and the work we do to set it up and keep it running. They are written to be read once and understood.

What you are getting

Casework is set up for your shop and run for you. That includes building your own rates into the pricing so estimates come out at your numbers, putting your wording into the templates, putting your logo and colour on every document a client sees, creating the accounts for your people, and keeping the whole thing running and up to date while you use it.

You do not administer any of it. There is no server to keep, no upgrade to schedule and no configuration to maintain.

What we need from you

  • Your pricing, in whatever form you keep it today.
  • The wording you already use with clients, as a starting point.
  • Your logo and the colour you want on documents.
  • One person who approves drafts before they go out.

Until the rates are in, Casework refuses to produce an estimate rather than produce a guess. That is deliberate.

Approval, and what goes out in your name

Nothing reaches a client until someone at your shop has read it and approved it. Every document goes out under your name and your brand, which means the price on it is your price and the commitments in it are your commitments.

Casework calculates from the rates you give us and drafts wording from the project record. Check both before you approve them. A figure you approve is a figure you have quoted.

The term and the fee

The term is one year, starting the day your account opens. The setup and the pricing build are charged once at the start. The rest is billed monthly across the year.

It renews for another year unless either of us says otherwise at least thirty days before the end. Any change to the fee takes effect at a renewal, never inside a year already running.

Ending it

If we stop delivering what is described here and have not put it right within thirty days of you telling us, you can end the agreement and stop paying. Short of that, the year runs to its end.

When an account closes, the links you have sent to clients stop working, including care manual links. Tell your clients before that happens, and take an export first.

Your records

The projects, client details and documents in your account are yours. Ask at any time and we will export them for you. After an account closes they are held for thirty days so an export can still be taken, and then removed. The privacy page says what is held and who holds it.

What Casework is not

It is a way of running the office work of a cabinet shop. It is not legal, tax, engineering or design advice. Warranty terms, care instructions and contract wording go out in your name and remain your responsibility, whoever first drafted them.

Keeping it running

We host it, maintain it and update it. Service is occasionally interrupted for maintenance, and we keep that short and out of working hours where we can. Support is by email, and we aim to answer within one business day.

Limits

Our liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profit or for work lost through a mistake in a document you approved and sent.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects you, we will tell you at least thirty days beforehand. Carrying on using Casework after that is acceptance of the change, and you can decline it by not renewing.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, and the courts there are the ones that settle any dispute under it.
